JULÄINE® – Biostimulating treatment for skin firmness and quality

Stimulate the skin's own collagen production and work on the skin's structure and firmness over time.

JULÄINE® is a biostimulating injectable treatment based on poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), developed to stimulate the skin's natural collagen formation. The treatment may be relevant if you want to work on age-related changes, lines, folds and reduced skin firmness, with the result developing gradually over time.

JULÄINE® uses a specially developed technology with PLLA microspheres. Rather than relying solely on immediate volume, the treatment is designed to stimulate processes in the tissue that contribute to collagen formation. The result develops gradually over weeks and months. The aim is a natural-looking improvement in the skin's structure and contours, adapted to your individual circumstances and needs.

What is JULÄINE® of Sweden?

JULÄINE® is a biostimulating injectable treatment based on poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a synthetic and biodegradable material that has been used in medical products over time.

Collagen is an important structural protein that contributes to the skin's firmness and support. With age, the collagen structure of the skin changes, and the skin may gradually lose some of its elasticity and firmness. This can make lines, folds and changes in facial contours more visible.

JULÄINE® is designed to stimulate collagen formation and contribute to a gradual improvement in the skin's structure. The treatment does not necessarily give an immediately visible result, as the effect depends on the body's response over time.

How does the treatment work?

JULÄINE® is injected into the tissue using a technique adapted to the treatment area and the product's instructions for use. The product contains PLLA microspheres designed to stimulate fibroblasts, cells that are involved in, among other things, the production of collagen. The microspheres break down gradually while the tissue goes through a remodelling process.

Over time, this can contribute to improvements in the skin's firmness and structure. How visible the result becomes varies from person to person and is influenced by, among other things, the skin's starting point, the treatment area and the treatment plan.

Is JULÄINE® the same as Sculptra®?

JULÄINE® and Sculptra® are two different products, both based on poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA). Both are designed to stimulate collagen formation, but they differ in product formulation and in the design of the particles.

JULÄINE® uses LASYNPRO™ technology with smooth, round and uniform PLLA microspheres. The manufacturer states a particle size of approximately 20–50 micrometres and emphasises that the design is intended to contribute to even dispersion and integration in the tissue.

Sculptra® is also a PLLA-based collagen stimulator, but has a different product formulation and particle technology. Both treatments aim to stimulate the skin's own processes of collagen formation. JULÄINE® stands out in particular through the design of its microspheres and the technology used to produce them.

At Beauty Medical we always assess which treatment suits each client best. JULÄINE® may be our preferred option in relevant cases where we want to use this specific PLLA technology. However, the particle shape alone does not demonstrate that the treatment gives better or more even results than Sculptra®.

Is JULÄINE® the same as HarmonyCa®?

No. JULÄINE® and HarmonyCa® are different biostimulating injectable treatments with different compositions and different properties.

JULÄINE® is based on poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) and is designed to stimulate collagen formation gradually over time. HarmonyCa® combines hyaluronic acid (HA) with calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA). The hyaluronic acid contributes an immediate volumising and supportive effect, while the CaHA component has biostimulating properties that can contribute to collagen formation over time.

The most important difference is therefore that JULÄINE® is a PLLA-based treatment, whereas HarmonyCa® combines hyaluronic acid and CaHA. They may be relevant for different needs, depending on whether the main goal is gradual collagen stimulation, immediate support and volume, or a combination of these effects.

The choice of treatment should be based on an individual assessment of anatomy, the skin's starting point, the desired result and the product's area of use.

Why choose JULÄINE® at Beauty Medical?

JULÄINE® stands out through its specially developed LASYNPRO™ technology. The PLLA microspheres are designed with a uniform, round shape, a smooth surface and a controlled particle size.

According to the manufacturer, this design is intended to contribute to even dispersion and integration in the tissue. This is a central part of the technology behind JULÄINE® and one of the characteristics that distinguish the product from other PLLA-based treatments.

At Beauty Medical we emphasise choosing treatment according to each client's needs, anatomy and desired result. We consider JULÄINE® a relevant option when the goal is gradual collagen stimulation with a focus on the skin's structure and firmness.

JULÄINE®, Sculptra® and HarmonyCa® have different properties, and there is no single treatment that is best for everyone. During the consultation we assess which treatment is most suitable for you.

Which areas can be treated?

Which areas can be treated with JULÄINE® must be assessed on the basis of the product's current instructions for use and approved area of use.

The practitioner assesses the skin's starting point, the anatomy of the area and what is realistic to achieve before an individual treatment plan is drawn up.

How many treatments are recommended?

The number of treatments and the intervals between them are adapted individually. This depends, among other things, on the treatment area, the skin's starting point and the desired result.

The treatment plan must follow the manufacturer's instructions for use and the assessment of the responsible practitioner. During the consultation you will receive information about the recommended course of treatment and when the result should be assessed.

When will you see the result?

JULÄINE® is a treatment in which the result develops gradually. Collagen remodelling takes place over time, and improvements in the skin's structure and firmness are therefore not necessarily visible immediately after the treatment.

It may take several weeks or months before the result becomes clear. How quickly changes occur, how extensive they are and how long they last varies from person to person.

It is important to have realistic expectations. The treatment does not give a guaranteed result, and it is not necessarily the best option for everyone who wants immediate volume correction.

What does the treatment feel like?

JULÄINE® is performed with injections. How the treatment feels varies from person to person and depends, among other things, on the treatment area and individual sensitivity.

During the treatment you may experience:

  • Small pricks
  • Pressure or stinging
  • Temporary discomfort
  • Minor bleeding at the injection points

Possible side effects and risks

After the treatment, redness, swelling, tenderness and bruising may occur. Temporary unevenness may also occur.

As with other injectable treatments, there is a risk of complications, including infection, inflammatory reactions, nodule formation and persistent unevenness. Rarer but serious complications can occur.

Before treatment is carried out, you will be given information about the expected effect, possible side effects, contraindications and necessary aftercare. Contact the clinic if you experience symptoms that concern you after the treatment.

After treatment

It is important to follow the practitioner's advice to care for the area after the treatment. You will receive individual information about skincare, physical activity and any precautions. Massage of the treatment area should only be performed if this is recommended in the product's instructions for use and by your practitioner.

Who is JULÄINE® suitable for?

JULÄINE® may be relevant for adults who want to work on lines, folds and age-related changes through a PLLA-based treatment that stimulates collagen formation.

The treatment is not necessarily suitable for everyone. Before treatment, an individual consultation is held in which we assess the condition of your skin, medical history, any contraindications and your expectations.

Age limit at Beauty Medical: We offer the treatment only to people aged 18 or over. An individual assessment is always carried out before treatment, and it is not automatically the case that everyone above the age limit is suitable.
