Mono threads
Collagen threads that tighten and strengthen the skin.

Monothreads
Monothreads are a minimally invasive treatment, also known as collagen threads. It is a biostimulating treatment that tightens the skin by stimulating the body's own collagen production to improve the skin's elasticity, texture and firmness.
What are monothreads?
Monothreads are thin, biodegradable threads made of PDO (polydioxanone), which are placed under the skin to stimulate collagen production and improve the skin's quality, elasticity and texture. PDO is a medical material that is used, among other things, in surgical sutures, and is gradually broken down by the body over time. Unlike a thread lift, monothreads do not give a strong immediate lift, but work more on skin improvement, prevention and gradual tightening. The result is smoother, firmer skin that develops over time in step with increased collagen production.
Monothreads – also known as collagen threads
Monothreads are thin, smooth, self-dissolving threads made of PDO (polydioxanone), a synthetic material that is also used in surgical sutures. The name 'collagen threads' does not mean that the threads contain collagen, but that they may stimulate the body's own collagen production.
PDO threads have been used in aesthetic treatments in South Korea, among other places, for many years. Smooth monothreads are used with the aim of gradually improving the skin's texture and firmness. They do not give the same mechanical lift as barbed threads, and they do not replace volume treatment of the cheekbones.
Smaller studies have examined monothreads for depressed acne scars, with promising results, but the documentation is still limited. PDO threads are also used in some treatments of lip contour and skin laxity on the body. The effect depends, among other things, on thread type, treatment area and individual factors.
We assess suitability, expected effect and any combination treatments individually. The treatment can cause swelling, bruising and tenderness. Infection, unevenness and visible or palpable threads can also occur.
How does the treatment work?
Monothreads are a non-surgical treatment in which the thin PDO threads are introduced under the skin using small needles. We apply anaesthetic to make the treatment more comfortable. Once the threads are in place, they stimulate the skin's natural repair process and increase collagen production. This gives a gradual tightening effect and improves the skin's texture and elasticity over time.
Common experiences during the treatment:
Small pricks when the threads are introduced
Light stinging or a feeling of pressure
Tenderness in the area during the treatment
After the treatment you may experience:
Slight tenderness or a feeling of tightness
Small bruises or swelling
Some sensitivity to touch for a few days
Which areas can be treated?
The treatment is used internationally and can be applied to several areas, including the face, neck, jawline, lips and the area under the eyes. It can also be used to tighten tissue after removal of filler in the upper lip. Monothreads are particularly suitable for improving the skin's firmness, reducing fine lines and wrinkles, and counteracting mild skin laxity. The result is a natural and gradual improvement in skin quality, which gives a fresher and more vital look – without surgical procedures.
