SKINCARE - TIPS & TRICKS

Skincare is a big topic, and many people find it complicated and difficult. It is completely understandable: in a sea of tips and different products, it can be hard to know what to focus on. That is why I have put together an overview of simple skincare do's and don'ts that anyone can follow to improve their skin.
IT IS IMPORTANT TO...
Drink enough water: A generous water intake gives the skin extra moisture and works against dehydrated skin.
Get a professional to tailor your skincare routine: We recommend getting help from a professional to build a skincare routine that suits your skin, your needs and your wishes. That way you avoid spending lots of time, money and energy on products your skin may not need. We are of course happy to help!
Double-cleanse your skin in the evening: In the evening, especially if you have worn make-up, it is important to double-cleanse to remove everything that has settled on your skin during the day. I like to remove make-up with a cleansing oil, and then cleanse with my regular cleanser.
Wear SPF 50 every day: Your skin needs protection from the sun's harmful rays, even when it is overcast! We have many very good facial sunscreens in the clinic and in our online shop.
Give your skin time: If you have started new products or measures to improve your skin, patience is important. The measures and products take time to produce an effect and change.
YOU SHOULD NOT...
Touch your face a lot: Our hands carry many bacteria. If you touch your face a lot, you risk transferring these bacteria to your face, which can cause clogged pores and blemishes. The same goes for our mobile phones. Disinfect your phone's surface to minimise the chance of transferring bacteria from the phone to your face.
Sleep in make-up: Make-up can clog pores and cause blemishes. You also cannot apply the skincare products your skin needs when you are wearing make-up.
Exfoliate your skin too often: Exfoliation is an important part of a skincare routine, but over-exfoliating can leave the skin irritated and more sensitive. The skin barrier becomes weaker.
Get too little sleep and too much stress: Sleep is important for the skin's regeneration, and stress can contribute to skin irritation and breakouts.
Expect results straight away: Skin does not change overnight, so in most cases you should use the products and measures over time, and you will gradually see improvement!
